What happens if I don’t have my solar panels protected?
You might be lucky and never experience an infestation from pigeons.
It can take anything from a couple of weeks to a few years for birds to find your solar panels.
Once they do the problem can very easily spiral out of control.
Once you start to see birds under your panels call us!
Don’t let it get to the point where you solar panels would have to be removed for repairs or to check the integrity of the wiring system and connection blocks.
This can be very costly!

What deterrents do you install?
We install solar panel wire mesh specifically designed for solar panels to keep birds out. This is made from a 25mm x 5mm gauge galvanised wire.
For an additional cost you can opt for stainless steel wire mesh.
Our installation are cut and shaped around the solar retention bars leaving a neat finish.
Why do you not recommend plastic deterrents or the use of mastic?
Plastic proofing products do not offer the robustness of the metal system we install.
Pigeons have all day to find a way past flimsy plastic installations.
The same can be said for installations where mastic is used to secure proofing to panels.
Every roof has extreme temperatures.
There is a high risk the mastic can become brittle over time which can lead to proofing coming away from the panels.
We have attended a number of properties to correct amateur bird proofing where this has happened.
Amateur mistake! Mastic is no good for solar panel proofing!

How much does it cost for solar panel bird proofing?
This is dependent on a number of factors. The main one, obviously, is how many panels you have.
We will discuss pricing with you once we have discovered how many panels you have.

Do you guarantee the solar panel pigeon proofing?
On completion of the installation and once payment has been received, a guarantee for the installation will be issued by email.
Do you install solar proofing on commercial properties?
We do. No job is too big or small for us.
We have installed bird protection on fire station roofs, warehouse roofs, shopping centre roofs and many other types of commercial premises.
Will I need scaffolding put up?
Once we have made contact with you and looked at your roof we will know instantly if safe access/fall arrest is required.
We do our very best to keep costs down. However, as a responsible company, safety is of paramount importance to the service we offer.
Should we need scaffold, we have a dedicated team who offer great prices for our customers.

Will I need additional bird deterrents as well as solar panel bird proofing?
We get asked this a lot.
If you find birds sitting on your roof ridge tiles or gutters they are simply sunning themselves.
Once they realise they cannot get back under they will look for an alternative home.
To save you money we always say that once the panels are protected monitor the birds behaviour.
We advise to not spend on additional products such as spikes or post and wire installations.
Birds are still perching on my roof!
That is normal. After all, your roof was their home.
Generally, after a couple of weeks, the birds will leave to find somewhere else to live.
You will see a reduction in numbers immediately.
